The magistrate court in Putnam County may be one of the best in the state. The three incumbent magistrates are experienced, hard-working and highly respected.
They handle a wide range of cases, including truancy, domestic violence and other criminal cases.
Putnam County residents have good reason to retain the three magistrates now on the bench.
No Democrats filed for these seats.
Five Republicans did. The Daily Mail endorses:
* Kylene Dunlap Brown of Hurricane, in her fifth term as a magistrate.
What a background. Brown has a master's degree in criminal justice and has worked as an emergency medical technician, a deputy sheriff, as Putnam County jail administrator, as police chief of Eleanor, as municipal judge in Eleanor, and as an eight-year member of the state Parole Board.
The state Supreme Court has tapped Brown many times to serve on committees that affect the criminal justice system statewide. The court has also appointed her to handle high-profile cases in other counties.
