Voters in the 36th District will see several familiar names on the ballot. But it's the less more likely to change West Virginia for the better.
The Daily Mail endorses Republicans Robin Holstein, Steve Sweeney and Stevie Thaxton.
* Holstein has worked in state government and knows how to get things done. She got involved in the redistricting fight in an effort to improve representation for the upper Kanawha Valley. If elected, Holstein would be the first delegate in eons who actually lives in the area.
* Sweeney, certified in early childhood education, is a substitute teacher. He has also been a contractor - L&S Construction - for 18 years. He's knowledgeable both about education and the obstacles small businesses face. Sweeney would be a good legislator.
* Thaxton, has worked as an electrician for 18 years and is owner of Faith Electrical Services LLC. He's a common-sense, hard-working small businessman, and he would make a difference as a legislator.
