I happened to meet Howard Swint the other evening and he showed me a picture of his wife and two daughters. He said, "This is what I'm all about. I'm running for Congress for them and all the future generations who deserve clean air to breathe and pure water to drink."
He supports the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which was opposed by Rep. Shelley Moore Capito. I wonder if she is willing to work for less than male members of Congress?
She also voted for the Ryan budget, which would put Medicare on a voucher system and cause millions of seniors to lose much of the benefits they earned throughout their working lives.
Howard Swint supports lifting the cap on Social Security payroll tax, which would require those making over $120,000 per year to pay into Social Security on earnings above that amount, something they do not do now.
Why should people on the lower end of the pay scale pay a higher percentage than those with a higher income? Capito has had 12 years in Congress and has done nothing for the people of West Virginia.
Let's give Howard Swint the opportunity to serve.
