Many of us are paying fuel taxes for vehicles that are never run on the road. This should be eliminated.
Small businesses like campgrounds buy hundreds of gallons of gasoline for their machinery that is never run on the road. Most farmers can't afford to have a fuel tank at home due mostly to environmental regulations.
They have to get fuel at service stations that have West Virginia road taxes added to the price. The Legislature needs to take a long, hard look at the tax on these fuels.
Taxing off-road fuel is not a fair tax.
It will continue hurting farmers and small businesses.
