Thanking lawmakers in allergy season
On behalf of all West Virginians, I thank the Legislature for keeping popular and effective cold and allergy medicines containing pseudoephedrine available without a prescription.
I, along with the rest of my family, suffer every spring from allergies.
Between my kids' hay fever and my aversion to ragweed, spring days can get pretty ugly. As a result, we have all come to rely on over-the-counter medicines containing PSE to treat our worst symptoms.
Forcing my family to see a doctor to obtain the treatment we depend on is both extreme and unfair.
We support our state's efforts to fight meth abuse, but not at the expense of law-abiding families.
I am glad that our Legislature showed level-headed reason on this occasion. I know my kids would agree.
