I am deeply troubled by the priorities of the American culture as expressed in the news media.
We were absorbed by the dramas of Jodi Arias, Casey Anthony, Treyvon Martin and George Zimmerman.
We took a brief interest in the Kermit Gosnell atrocities after pro-life groups brought it to our attention.
Even then, the room was primarily devoid of the press.
Has this interest been only to salve our conscience in a sad attempt to show that we are a moral nation that brings immorality to justice?
We should be morally outraged.
When events reveal that there is a real weakness in our moral fabric, such as what is still occurring in abortion clinics, we should not stop at exposing one perpetrator, saying, "We've done our due."
It is time for reflection: Have we taken any steps to assure that this does not happen again? Do we really care if it continues, as long as we don't have to see it?
