The newest hotel chain in Charleston, Courtyard by Marriott, promises to be an upscale facility for the face of Charleston. However, the means of achievement leaves lots to be desired for the citizens of the region.
As a community partner, they seem to be all take, and the community that gives the civil support gets the leftover crumbs.
If Courtyard can take our law enforcement, fire protection and civil services paid by our taxes, they should hire our people at a livable wage and supply a safe work environment to build their facility.
If citizens of Charleston are looking for a responsible partner that shares an interest in the people of Charleston, the citizens should demand corporate responsibility for the people of Charleston.
