After reading the Jan. 23 article, "County prosecutor claims 'no favoritism' for new wife," and then again a follow-up article by Ashley Craig, I was wondering what the motivation was and what triggered such an article.
It seems more like a personal hit piece on one of our local county elected officials. I'm not sure how it affects us as citizens. I'm wondering, what are the reporter's motives? This almost seems like a high school rumor conversation.
The reporter has gone to great lengths, in my mind, to try and bring discredit on Mr. Plants. While, after reading these articles, I question Prosecutor Mark Plants' new wife's attention to detail to her driving, I can't for the life of me see how it is my or our business. She implies favoritism. Perhaps, since he did end up marrying her.
But after living here 35 years, we have never had such an upstanding county prosecutor who has gone to great lengths to streamline investigations so as to have more streamlined hearings and therefore justice. His reputation has been and is untainted.
There has to be some seed to this story. Some motivation. What is it?
