* I find it difficult to believe that any American family who lost a loved one in Iraq takes any pride or honor in believing that one of their own died to "give 31 million Iraqis an opportunity to establish self government." I'm sure there are other reasons for those families to feel a sense of honor in the ultimate sacrifice they've had to make. But surely that is not one of them.
* It is truly sad that our veterans in the Beckley VA Medical Center are fed some of the worst food I have ever been exposed to. We all know that hospital food is not the best, but the Beckley VA should take all honors for having the worst food in the world. It actually stinks. I can highly recommend it if you want to lose weight. My father has dropped over 20 pounds in five weeks. It is so sad to treat our veterans this way. Shame. Shame.
* Good grief, the Daily Mail has really put tight screening on its online comments. Recently they started requiring registration (which compromises posters' privacy) and now comments must be approved from being "overly critical," whatever that vague terminology means. It's easier to be screened for boarding an airplane than to post a comment now.
* It's funny how hypocritical Republicans can be. They say everyone should work for what they get, but they don't have any problems with the multitude of people in their party who inherit their money from their parents.
* Dan Quayle's son, who is running for Congress, reminds me of George W. Bush. They both got the majority of their campaign money from their dads' friends. I thought Republicans thought that people who didn't work for and earn what they got were lazy. What hypocrites.
* The Board of Education doesn't care about the students. My daughter needs a math class in order to graduate this year. They did not schedule her in a math class. Now we are told they won't change her classes. She may as well quit because she won't be able to graduate anyway. They don't care about our children, only the money they get for having them at the school.
* Not everyone with a tattoo is dysfunctional. Sounds to me like the venter is the dysfunctional one.
* I hope the driver of the brown truck who stole the bike the first day of school at Lakewood realizes he ruined the first day back to school for a little boy.
* I thought Verizon was slow on repairs, but Frontier has them beat. My Internet has been out since Aug. 6. I've called them several times and they always say they will be out in two to three days. Then they call and say they can't make it. Who do you have to know to get them to fix them? I've also contacted the Attorney General's office.
* I was taking my son to his first day of school at Montrose Elementary, and noticed the class sizes were very large and the teachers were overwhelmed with kids. In talking to some of the parents, I found that they're from Dunbar, the West Side and Spring Hill. Don't they have schools in those districts for those children? Why are they overwhelming Montrose Elementary and making those teachers overwhelmed? Don't they have their own schools?
* So Marshall's band is going to quit playing Country Roads, huh? I don't know. Why do I think Marshall is petty and jealous?
* God has forewarned us of these signs, so we are not fooled.
* There's a lot of negative feedback on the bridge but I think it's very pretty.
