n I'm tired of Republicans referring to Social Security as an "entitlement program." We worked and paid into Social Security. I'll tell you what an entitlement program is. It is receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in stock dividends when you never worked a day in your life.
n I wonder where a recent venter found the hateful and hating Christians. All the Christians I know help the needy; care for the sick and pray for people like him.
n The Housing Development Fund is a joke for first-time homebuyers. They have been three months processing a property loan that has been appraised for $20,000 more than what the loan request was made for. They nitpick on numerous petty items until the buyer and the seller give up.
n The GOP is getting desperate. First Romney didn't win Iowa, and now it appears he didn't win Maine. He has to get the nomination for the GOP to have a chance against Obama.
n Another month and another decision to make. Do I pay my electric and water bills, or do I buy necessities like cigarettes, beer, cable, and another tattoo?
n There were a lot of presidents born into meager beginnings. But there were four that started out very poor. They were Andrew Jackson, Andrew Johnson, Lyndon Johnson, and the most famous of all was Abraham Lincoln. Honest Abe was maybe the poorest of all. Check your facts before you vent.
n I think the West Side school should be named after my dog. He's a great guy, and a lot of people love him, but you don't see me out there causing a ruckus over it, do you?
n Rick Santorum may be the grandson of a coal miner, but he governed like the son of a Texas oilman. Rick voted for every policy that Bush and Cheney proposed. He didn't care about balancing the budget as long as the rich received their tax cuts.
n I would support doing away with the food stamp program and handing out commodities like milk, beans, rice, and cheese, but no doubt the products would be imported from Mexico or China and some way, some how either the Tomblins, the Manchins, or the Perdues would end up with the local contract for supplying and distributing it.
n Would someone please explain to me why if "right to work" is so bad, then why do the states that have right to work have a higher per capita income than does West Virginia? When we rank 49 out of 50, then right to work cannot be all that bad.
