Your vents, Tuesday, Feb. 18

  • To those of you crying about Obama's second term, now you know what rational people went through during the two terms of that infamous war deserter and coward, George W. Bush. Enjoy.

  • To the fellow who owns the 30.06 deer rifle: Are you able to kill 40 animals or people in 30 seconds with your deer rifle? I didn't think so.
  • I love my country. I fear my government.
  • Legal and ethical considerations prevent public disclosure of employee termination. Suffice it to say that one lawyer would not fire another lawyer without sufficient justification to back up the action.
  • This is the time of the year the Charleston City Council begins working on next year's budget. Keep in mind that the $6 million the user fee brings in is still being misused.
  • To the venter referring to Mark Plants not prosecuting anyone: You are 100 percent right. He makes plea deals and sets the murderers back on the street.
  • There are hardworking Americans benefiting from the Affordable Care Act. For instance, two working adults having their first child under the ACA are able to have 100 percent of the cost of a breast pump paid for by the insurance company. Thousands of dollars are spent each year on health insurance, and finally we will benefit from that investment.
  • I would like to know what has happened to the Camelot Village Mobile Home Park located in Eleanor. ... Things are definitely going downhill.
  • Why did Thomas Memorial Hospital spend all of that money building the towers? The last two times I have been admitted there, I have spent all of my time in the emergency room and got charged for a private room, even though I never left the ER.
  • What could be going through the minds of the people who are gunning down other people, even children, and then turning the gun on themselves? Never in the history of mankind have we seen this tragic fad.
  • Get yourself right with God before it is too late. Watch Bill O'Reilly on Fox News.
  • Surprise, surprise. So we had one of the "Buckwild" cast members busted on drug charges. A $200,000 bond is the result of heavy-duty stuff. What else can you expect when these kids are getting fame and a little chunk of change? Mommy and Daddy had better step in and take control of their newly found riches and put them on an allowance until they mature.
  • Does Obama really think that by raising minimum wage to $9 per hour by 2015, people will not have to live in poverty? Gas is $4 per gallon, groceries have tripled, utilities have tripled and by 2015, $9 an hour will still be below the poverty level.
  • President Obama lies more than any other president in history. He does not tell the truth about our economy, health care or anything else. He should be impeached. His State of the Union speech was a joke and a lie.
  • I guess the story in the newspaper about the shortage of methanol made the gas prices go up 14 cents in one day for no apparent reason. Engines don't like ethanol anyway and would run better without it and get better gas mileage. The American people are being screwed coming and going over the ethanol.
  • When Americans decide to lead terrorist groups and look like terrorists, as far as I am concerned, they are not Americans.
  • Marco Rubio and Rand Paul made two of the best responses to a State of the Union address in many a year.
