Your vents, Monday, March 11

  • Sens. Manchin and Rockefeller and the Democrats could have saved billions of dollars by not voting to send more money and war materials to Egypt, which is a terrorist nation. Their hypocrisy knows no limits.

  • Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said there would be pink slips among teachers and then he said they would get transfer slips. Washington lies and doesn't know the truth about anything.
  • The Federal Reserve is stealing billions of dollars every year from people who try to save due to low interest rates. This needs to stop. People depend on interest earnings to live on; let the rich people pay.
  • This is about the gas company's customer service charge increases. Where was it passed and who voted for it? If you are on a budget, you shouldn't have to pay it at all.
  • I see where a congressman in Florida thinks he is worth $170,000 a year and his pension gets an increase for doing nothing. Yet he thinks Social Security and Medicare should be cut for the seniors.
  • When will they start drug testing gun licensees? It is just like the police; we need to drug test them.
  • Never say never. Maybe a woman will never win the Daytona 500, but probably Alaskan mushers thought that until a woman won the 1,000-mile Iditarod sled-dog race.
  • I don't believe in females laying up and having a bunch of babies and being on welfare either, but I've seen comments in the Vent Line that are from male chauvinists and I don't like it. Whatever is good for a female is good for a male, so snip-snip males.
  • The strip clubs in the beautiful town of Jefferson definitely need to be updated. It seems as though they are starting to run down. At one time, I was proud to go into them, but they are now starting to look dilapidated.
  • I agree with the City of Huntington. When you put upholstered furniture on the front porch, there goes the neighborhood.
  • This is for the moron who said no one is trying to stop Corey Palumbo from wearing a seat belt if he wants to, but he is trying to make everyone else wear one: Well, duh. They save lives, and I am living proof. Everyone should wear a seat belt.
  • I'm tired of the scare tactics of Obama concerning sequestration. He is a pretty scary leader.
  • It is disgusting that the whole Headline News channel has nothing except that Jodi Arias' sex murder trial. The whole nation doesn't need to know her sex secrets. Come on, Arizona, and keep your court hearings in your state.
  • Jodi Arias remembers what she wants to and forgets what she wants to. She has told everyone she committed the murder of Travis Alexander. She deserves the death penalty.
  • This is in response to the caller who wanted to know why the Republicans are getting blamed for their approval rating. There may be more Democrats, but the Republicans came up with the filibuster bill, and there aren't enough Democrats to out-vote it.
  • The person who is complaining about military cuts only has to call Congresswoman Capito and ask her to tax the rich. When they pay their fair share, we won't have to cut anything.
  • Who is the young man who cleans up Stuart Street? Does the city know about him? He should be notably commended. This is very unusual.
