Your vents for Tues., Dec. 24
n John L. Lewis and my mother made a Democrat out of me all my life. Obama has made an independent out of me and I like supporting Joe Manchin and Shelley Moore Capito. With one Democrat and one Republican we might be able to get something done right.
n Thanks to all of the people who have donated items and customers who have shopped at the Thrift Shop in Marmet. By the grace of God and your help we were able to give back to different ministries a little over $3,200. Thank you all.
n Everybody should realize this holiday is about Jesus' birthday, forgiveness, love and understanding. It isn't about the shopping. The only true judge is God Almighty and people should stop being judgmental of others.
n Today will never come again. Be a blessing. Be a friend. Encourage someone. Take time to care. Let your words heal, not wound.
n God doesn't write people off. Don't you either.
n To the woman talking about making Natalie-whoever-she-is a campaign donation: she could probably do a lot better job than Shelley-already-got-her-pockets-full-wanting-more Capito.
n What kind of uniforms did the WVU cheerleaders wear on Saturday night at the game against Marshall? From the stands it looked like they weren't wearing anything. They looked see-through. Wrong.
n The Capital Classic seemed to be a good series this year. WVU won again, but Marshall hung in there. Both teams played tough ball. I think WVU will get woken up in the Big 12.
n Elder Beerman in Kanawha City did a wonderful job of decorating their store this Christmas. An absolutely wonderful job.
n Now is the time to plan your garden. Plant what you like best. Save seeds. Live well.
n The cemetery in Hometown, Putnam County, needs to clean up their mausoleum. People don't put all that stuff on graves in other places. Get it cleaned up.
n Year 2016 can't get here fast enough for independents and Republicans. We need to get everyone out of Washington, D.C. from team Obama — especially Valerie Jarrett, Jay Carney and all the other Obama-fried Democrats.
n No one should ever have to go to a hospital and be treated like trash or like a piece of scum. You should expect a minimum of dignity and respect. It is bad enough to be sick.
n Does anyone have any information about Carney's that just opened up on Goff Mountain Road in Cross Lanes?
n The person who calls in about religious articles and statements is so refreshing.
n All I want for Christmas this year is for everybody to come out to the animal shelter.
n I'd like to thank the state for paving the holes on Woodrum Lane today. There must have been a shortage of blacktop because it didn't completely fill up the holes.
n I want to give a shout-out to all of the wonderful people who work at the Elder-Beerman store in Kanawha City. Charleston is blessed to have them. I am so thankful.
