  • A huntress is born. Really? Such a warm story in Sunday's sports section with the little girl learning to hunt and track by the spilled blood of a beautiful deer. Way to go dad. Do you all need money for food?

  • I wish the Weather Channel would return to the old way of presenting the weather information. This new way is too fast and hard to comprehend.
  • Because this column space is limited to brief comments people can use it to announce Obama's accomplishments in 2014. You can also include the last five years.
  • If you live in a country where every citizen now must prove they are insured, but they don't have to prove citizenship, we must live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.
  • I read where teachers' unions will push the Legislature for a raise. First, they need to be drug tested, if we can get by the hypocritical teachers' unions.
  • America is not a Communist country, but Obama and his minions are trying to turn America into a Communist country. They want to control every aspect of our lives.
  • I think once the illegal taxes Charleston has been collecting from areas outside of Charleston are stopped, they should determine how much was collected and return the money back to the youth leagues of those communities.
  • We would like to thank the anonymous lady paying for our meal at Cracker Barrel. She not only gave us a good meal but restored my faith in mankind. May God bless her for her blessings to us. We will always remember her act of kindness to us with sincere appreciation.
  • We went to a wonderful concert by the group Karen Peck and New River at the Milton Community Center and it was so uplifting. The prices were reasonable and the concessions were delicious. Thanks again for bringing in this group to honor and worship God.
  • Cleaning up all of the meth labs borders on hysteria. How hard can it really be to do this?
  • The teenager who killed four people while driving under the influence and only received 10 years' probation probably had his family give a nice Christmas present to that judge.
  • OK, all of you fat donkeys in Washington who cut unemployment benefits, pensions and so forth - don't forget to vote yourself another big raise.
  • I think it would be a miracle if the paper went one day without having a story about homosexuals.
  • Don't worry about the library reducing service hours because the Internet is open 24/7, 365 days a year.
  • I see retirees don't mind if millionaires and billionaires like Warren Buffett continue to receive Social Security benefits. I think people who have that much money should not be allowed to collect. The benefits should go to people who paid into it for years and hope it is still around when I reach the age of attainment.
  • Why does that hunter think it is OK for him to espouse pro-gay stances, but if someone says anything different from him they should be fired and never work again?
  • Maybe there will always be around 30 percent of people who don't believe in Jesus whether they see his miracles or not. Maybe these are just the lost souls who cannot be converted; I think so.
  • The Weather Channel is warning us about dangerously cold temperatures. Maybe the left should let up on the war on global warming.
  • I see where the majority of women going through Marine basic training cannot do the minimum three pull-ups required for training. I'm 71 years old and I can do three pull-ups. This is downright scary.
