Prep football: Son of Randy Moss enrolls at St. Albans
CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Thaddeus "Thad" Moss, the son of Randy Moss and Kanawha Valley native Libby Offutt, has enrolled at St. Albans High School, sources told the Daily Mail.
Moss is one of four children to Randy Moss and Offutt. They also have two daughters - Sydney and Senali - and another son - Montigo.
Sydney is a freshman basketball player at the University of Florida.
Thad just completed his freshman football season at Boone County High School in Florence, Ky., where he lined up tight end.
The Rebels' season concluded on Friday night in a 44-20 defeat to Pleasure Ridge Park (Ky.).
Boone County finished the season 1-11.
In that game, Moss had a pair of tackles and a fumble recovery.
In the previous game against John Hardin, he had three catches for 46 yards and one solo tackle and five assists in a 34-14 loss.
For the season, the 6-foot-2, 210-pound ninth-grader caught 12 passes for 157 yards and added 16 solo tackles and 16 assists, with a fumble recovery, two forced fumbles and one blocked field goal defensively.
Moss also is expected to play basketball for the Red Dragons. Practice is scheduled to begin on Monday.
Randy Moss is a former DuPont High School and Marshall University star. He holds the NFL's single-season touchdown reception record (23, set in 2007) and the NFL single-season touchdown reception record for a rookie (17, in 1998).
In high school, he led DuPont to Class AAA state titles in 1992 and '93 and was named a Parade magazine All-America high school player in 1995.
