The Marshall University football team picked up a pair of verbal commitments this weekend, with offensive lineman Chris Huhn and corner D'Andre "Chocolate" Wilson both announcing on their Twitter feeds that they had chosen Marshall.
Huhn tweeted, "I am officially committed to play football at #Marshall University!! GO HERD!!! Couldn't be happier with my decision!!" Wilson simply tweeted, "I'm committing to Marshall University #HerdNation."
Huhn, a 6-foot-6, 290-pound tackle from Pickerington North High in Pickerington, Ohio, had been verbally committed to Western Kentucky. Rivals.com, Scout.com 247Sports.com and ESPN.com all rate him a three-star recruit. Wilson, a 5-foot-9, 160-pound corner from Myrtle Beach (S.C.) High, also held scholarship offers from North Carolina State, Purdue, Missouri and Mississippi. Rivals.com rates him the No. 72 corner prospect in the country and the 11th-best overall prospect in South Carolina. ESPN.com considers him the No. 7 recruit in South Carolina and the nation's No. 29 corner prospect.
Wilson is rated four stars by ESPN and three stars by Rivals, Scout and 247Sports. Verbal commitments are non-binding and cannot become official until National Signing Day on Wednesday, Feb. 6.
