CHARLESTON, W.Va. - George Washington senior two-sport standout Rachel Ward has signed to play women's basketball at West Virginia State University, and will walk on with the softball team as well.
Ward was the Kanawha Valley Player of the Year in basketball this past season and was a Second Team All-State selection. Ward finished her career with 1,205 points and hit 76 three-pointers.
In softball, Ward was a first team All Kanawha Valley selection her freshman season and a second team pick her sophomore and junior campaigns.
Foust wins Wendy's Amateur Tour event
Hurricane's Michael Foust shot a 67 at the Big Bend Golf Course on Monday to win in the Wendy's Amateur Tour on the par 70, 6,327-yard course in Tornado.
Foust will play next in the U.S. Open local qualifier at Edgewood Country Club.
The Wendy's Amateur Tour continues on May 15 at The Pines Country Club.
