Former Herd softball ace joins pro team

Former Marshall softball pitcher Andi Williamson, who last month led the Thundering Herd to its both its first Conference USA title and first NCAA regional tournament appearance, has been signed as a free agent by the Chicago Bandits of National Pro Fastpitch.

Williamson, a graduate of Chapmanville Regional High School, finished her senior season with a 33-18 record and 364 strikeouts, which was second best in the NCAA this year. She had a 1.93 earned run average and opponents batted .198 against her.
