Former South Charleston High School and Marshall University football star Aaron Dobson made his National Football League debut Thursday night. Dobson, who is a rookie with the New England Patriots, made three receptions for 56 yards and one touchdown in his first NFL action.
The Patriots defeated Geno Smith and the New York Jets, 13-10.
It didn't take long for Dobson to make an impact. He caught a 39-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Tom Brady with 12:54 left of the first quarter. Dobson got behind the Jets secondary and scored easily. It was the Patriots' only touchdown of the game.
Dobson added an 8-yard catch late in the second quarter and a 9-yard reception in the third quarter.
