AUSTIN HENSLEY picked as good of a time as possible to have a breakout game against a playoff contender.
The Hurricane quarterback lost his favorite receiver early in Friday's win against visiting Princeton (2-2), yet still completed 16-of-27 passes for 301 yards and five touchdowns in a 41-21 that could prove crucial to the Redskins' (3-1) playoff hopes. The Tigers entered the game ranked 10th in the Daily Mail Class AAA poll.
Senior utility player Zach Pate, who led Hurricane in receiving through three games, was injured early in the game and did not return. In Pate's absence Hensley relied heavily on Brandon Ford, who caught touchdown passes of 30 and 39 yards and finished the game with five catches for 139 yards.
Hurricane travels to No. 6 Cabell Midland (3-1) on Friday before the Redskins' bye week. The team also has games remaining against playoff contenders at No. 5 George Washington (4-0), at home against rival Winfield (2-1), at No. 2 Capital (3-0) and at Spring Valley (2-2).
