Junior Mason Hodge - known more for his defensive prowess as a 2012 All-State selection and one of the best linebackers in the state - leads the team with 607 yards and seven TDs on 61 carries.
"It sets the bar really high, honestly," Ferguson said of winning two titles in his first two years of high school. "We're on such a streak now and I've got two rings now. It just makes you strive every day to do better and try to reach that goal again."
Ferguson said he does not know if the 2013 is as good as the Wayne team from a year ago, calling the 2012 team, "something special."
It's all about perspective, he said.
"It's like the Tolsia game, which we won 28-0. People looked at that and said, 'Woah, what's up with Wayne?' They didn't see that we held them to negative 3 yards of total offense. It's easy to get spoiled."
It also gives Harmon another reason to be grateful.
"The good thing about him is that he has an idea about the big picture," Harmon said. "It wouldn't matter to him if we went out and threw the ball one time. He's a leader.
"He's mature enough and he understands that next week it might take 30 times to do the job. All our kids are that way, but when you have key cogs - and he's certainly one of our key cogs - that feel that way it's a good thing to have."
Wayne has won a school-record 29 consecutive games, and has been ranked No. 1 in the Daily Mail Class AA Poll since the 2012 preseason.
Call it the longest-running tent revival in history.
