CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Poca jumped out to a double-digit, first quarter lead and never looked back in cruising to a 70-49 road win over Scott in boys high school basketball action Wednesday.
The Dots (5-1) were led by Noah Frampton and Matt Chandler, who scored 17 points apiece, while Elijah Cuffee added 15.
For Scott (5-4), Logan Webb scored a team-high 13 points, followed by Eric May with 10.
Mingo Central 65, Herbert Hoover 44 - Alex Lee netted 18 points as the Miners (2-5) earned the Cardinal Conference road win.
Dalton Hatfield had 17 points for Mingo, while Malichi May added 12.
For Hoover (1-6), Noah Toops led a trio of double-digit scorers with 17 points, followed by Tommy Parrish's 16 and Matthew Justice with 11.
In girls hoops action:
Winfield 55, Hurricane 43 -Haylea Roberson poured in 34 points to lead the Generals (4-1) at home.
Winfield led by just four points entering the fourth quarter, but outscored the Redskins 21-13 in the final minutes to extend the lead.
For Hurricane (3-4), Taniesha Sturdavent led the way with 16 points, while Kaylee Wooten chipped in with 14.
Charleston Catholic 62, Man 27 -Anna Whelan scored 19 points to lead the Irish to the easy win.
Vida Imani added 18 points for Catholic, followed by Maddy Blaydes with 11.
For Man, Hunter Harvey led the way with 12 points.
