CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Chyress Lockhart poured in 25 points in 27 minutes to lead the University of Charleston women's basketball team to an 81-64 win over visiting Wheeling Jesuit on Monday night.
Lockhart, who was coming off a season-low four points against West Liberty, hit 7 of 12 shots, all three of her 3-point attempts and 8 of 9 free throws to lead all scorers. LeAnne Ross scored 15 points and had a team-high four assists, while Tianni Kelly added 12 points.
UC (13-6, 9-6 Mountain East) bounced back from a 46-45 loss at West Liberty, a game in which the Golden Eagles shot 30.9 percent, to hit 53.7 percent on field goals and 10 of 19 3-pointers against Jesuit (9-10, 6-9).
Wheeling Jesuit's Jaila Bryant finished with 19 points, six assists and six rebounds - all team highs.
