CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Hurricane Henry Sorsaia celebrated senior night with a huge game in earning his 1,000th career point in help leading the Redskins to a 88-46 victory over Cabell Midland in boys high school basketball action Wednesday night.
Sorsaia scored a game-high 23 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out six assists, and collected four steals for Hurricane (14-4). The senior now has 1,009 career points for the Redskins.
"You have should seen the smile on his face," Hurricane coach Lance Sutherland said. "It was like a weight on his shoulder in the first quarter. It was outstanding. He got it from the foul line. At the beginning of the year, he was shooting like 20 percent there but is not around 65 or 70."
Alex Estep added 16 points as well for the Redskins. For Cabell Midland (3-13), Collin Bellomy scored a team-high 12 points.

Winfield 65 - The Timberwolves trailed by two entering the fourth quarter but outscored the Generals 22-14 in the decisive period to earn the road win.
It was a three-point fest for each team with Spring Valley draining nine opposed to eight for the Generals (10-7).
Josh Steele led the Timberwolves with 25 points and Jacob Kilgore added 21. For Winfield, John Bellomy scored a team-high 18 points and Zach Fisher contributed 15.
