HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Marshall University men's golf Coach Joe Feaganes on Tuesday announced Nathan Kerns, of Ironton, Ohio, has signed a national letter of intent with the Thundering Herd.

Kerns, an Ironton High School product, has collected many accolades throughout his prep career, including being named the 2007 and 2008 Southeast Ohio District Player of the Year.

Kerns claimed medalist honors at the Ironton Invitational and Portsmouth Invitational in 2008.

He was the Ohio High School Athletic Association's Division II low individual qualifier for the State Tournament in 2008, where he finished in seventh place. He is a three-time state finals qualifier.
