HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Breaststroker Sarah Schimenti and diver Maribeth Smith have signed national letters of intent with Marshall.
Schimenti was a junior national qualifier in both the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke. She also was a state finalist in the 100-yard breaststroke during her junior year.
Smith was a two-time state championship qualifier as well as a two-time AAU national championship qualifier.
The Thundering Herd volleyball team also received national letters of intent from setter Ryanne Milligan and outside hitter Katy Schad.
Milligan helped Assumption High School win a state championship last year. She also helped Kentucky-Indiana Volleyball Academy win an AAU national championship this year.
Katy Schad is a two-time Class 4A All-State first-team selection from Floyd Central High School. She led the state with 598 kills (5.6 kills per set). Her 1,502 career kills are a school record.
