CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Ryan Shamblin had a pair of hits, including the game winner in the bottom of the seventh to lead Herbert Hoover to a 7-6 victory over Winfield at Jeff Holliday Field in Falling Rock.
Tristan Fields had a three-run homer and four RBI for the Huskies (18-5), while Zach Wright smacked a solo homer.
For Winfield, Jordan Clark had a two-run homer, while Brandon Wright added a pair of hits, including a triple.
Hurricane 2, Nitro 1 - Riley Metz knocked in the winning run with an RBI fielders choice in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Redskins (21-3) over the Wildcats (15-6).
Trey Dawson added a pair of hits and an RBI for Hurricane, while Tate Brock smacked a double.
For Nitro, Korey Dunbar had a sixth-inning solo homer that knotted the score at one run apiece.
Drew Lawrence (6-1) went the distance for Hurricane, striking out 11 batters.
Charleston Catholic 5, Point Pleasant 1 - The Irish (20-4) fell behind in the first inning, but rallied behind a two-hit, complete-game pitching effort by Kiefer Hovorka.
Hovorka struck out eight and walked two in moving his record to 6-0.
Connor Golden paced the Irish with three RBI, while Hovorka and Jack Crockett each knocked in a single run.
For Point Pleasant (16-6), Jason Stouffer had a double and RBI.
Buffalo 8, Wirt County 0 - Senior right-hander Travis Coleman (6-2) tossed a two-hit shutout to lead the Bison (15-12) on the road.
Coleman also had three hits, as did Laythen Good and and Corey Hoshor. Good and Hoshor also had two RBI each.
For Wirt County, Dalton Brindo had both hits.
