CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Hurricane's boys soccer team found itself in a very unfamiliar position Tuesday evening.
After cruising through its first seven matches unbeaten and unscored upon, the Redskins trailed host South Charleston 1-0 at the half, before rallying in the second half to pull out a 3-2 win at Trace Fork.
Felipe Thompson scored two goals and Ian Miles netted a third to lead the Redskins' rally.
Matt Morgan had an assist for Hurricane (8-0-0).
For South Charleston (3-3-0), Isaac Cosby and Jonah Cosby scored goals, while Chris Brown chipped in with an assist.
Nitro 7, St. Albans 0 - The Wildcats scored six first- half goals in cruising at home against the Red Dragons (2-6-1).
Corey Tornes netted three goals for Nitro (6-4-0), while Evan Eich, Alec Bailey, Chase Kirk and Matt Kahn had single goals. Eich, Alex White and Austin McKitrick had assists for the Wildcats.
St. Joseph 3, Sissonville 1 - Lakin Brooks scored a pair of goals to help propel the Irish. Stephan Jenkins added a goal for St. Joseph.
For Sissonville (8-2), Josh Rawson scored a goal, while Anthony Rinehart had an assist.
Herbert Hoover 3, Midland Trail 0 - Troy Filber scored a pair of goals and Andrew Mercer added a single goal for the Huskies at Falling Rock.
