CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Herbert Hoover clinched its first winning campaign since the 1995-96 season with a 61-52 home win over Mingo Central in girls basketball action Thursday night.
Bethany Romine and Jordan Marshall led the Huskes (12-10), which trailed by 11 points late in the third quarter, with 15 points apiece.
Romine hit four of Hoover's six 3-pointers in the final quarter to seal the win.
For Central (10-11), Ashley Curry scored 13 points, while Chrissy Farmer added 11.
St. Albans 33, Beckley 23 - Torri Wilson scored 15 points to lead the Red Dragons (12-10) at home.
Breanna Propst added 10 points for St. Albans.
For Beckley (10-12), Summer Butler led the way with seven points.
Hurricane 60, Lincoln County 55 - Audrey Barber and Abby Watson combined for 19 points in the fourth quarter to rally the Redskins (6-16) to the road win.
Watson led Hurricane with 24 points, while Barber added 14.
For Lincoln County (5-16), Lindsey Prichard led the way with 14 points, followed by Kerbie Slone with 12 and Taylor Adkins with 11.
Winfield 48, Riverside 44 - Haeley Moore's 11 points led the Generals (11-11) at home.
Mara Rhodes added 10 points for Winfield.
For Riverside, Brittany Wood had 17 points, followed by Kara Knapp with 12.
