Boys basketball: Stowers records 1,000th point, Sissonville ends five-game skid
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Sissonville boys basketball team ended a five-game losing skid with a 70-53 home win over Nicholas County on Tuesday night.
Zach Null led the Indians (5-17) with 26 points, while Trent Stowers finished with 23 points to eclipse the 1,000-career point plateau in the fourth quarter.
For the Grizzlies (10-10), Eric Peyatt led the way with 18 points, while Cody McClung added 12 points and Jared Tharp had 10.
Winfield 83, Oak Hill 42 - John Bellomy had 24 points as the Generals held a 41-16 halftime lead en route to the easy home win.
Zach Fisher recorded 15 points and Brock Pence had 12 points and eight rebounds for Winfield (14-8).
For Oak Hill (3-16), Marc Logan had 10 points.
Hurricane 75, Cabell Midland 69 - Rassan Harris had 16 points and 10 assists to lead the Redskins (16-5) at home.
Hurricane's Garrett DeFries scorched the Knights from behind the arc, dropping in six 3-pointers, en route to a game-high 20 points.
For Midland (6-16), Sawyer Beckett and Miles Bailey netted 14 points apiece, while Dakota Leonard contributed 13.
