Herbert Hoover 8, Nicholas County 0 - Huskies sophomore Allison Rager pitched five shutout innings to lead the top-ranked team in Class AA to a five-inning home win over the previously unbeaten and seventh-ranked Grizzlies (5-1).
Mikayla Craze went 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI to lead Hoover (4-1) while Kati Angle had a two-run double.
Sissonville 5, Ripley 2 - The Indians (6-2) had six hitters go 2-for-4 while pounding out 13 hits against Vikings (8-2) pitchers in a road win.
Catcher Kaitlyn Linville was one of those in the Sissonville hit parade, and she finished a triple, double and three RBI. The Indians scored four runs in the top of the sixth to help get pitcher Bekah Baldwin.
Baldwin, who also went 2-for-4, struck out eight.
Riverside 12, Jeffersontown, Va. - At the Grand Strand Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C., the Warriors improved to 9-7 in a three-inning blowout.
Alyssa Sparks had a triple, a double and drove in three runs for Riverside, which also got a pair of RBI from Kaylee Wolfe.
Wayne 6, Huntington 0 - Pioneer pitcher Jessie Rowe struck out eight and gave up just three hits - all to Highlander Rachel Bias - to help Class AA No. 3 Wayne improve to 5-3.
Emily Thompson hit a two-run home run for the Pioneers, and Payton Fetty also homered. Savannah Petty doubled twice in the win.

Herbert Hoover 8, Sissonville 1 - Matt Justice went the distance and gave up just one run on one hit as the Huskies (10-0) won on the road.
Corey Bird went 2-for-2 with two RBI for Hoover. Zach Null was 2-for-3 for Sissonville (5-7) and took the loss on the mound.
