George Washington running back Draven Riffe has been selected as the Gazette-Mail High School Huddle Player of the Week for his performance in the Patriots' 35-14 win at Ashland Paul Blazer (Ky.) on Friday night.
Riffe carried 39 times for 239 yards and four touchdowns against the Tomcats, as GW padded a 21-14 halftime lead with two Riffe TD runs in the second half. It was the only scoring in the game after halftime.
The senior has been a workhorse for the Patriots (2-0) through the early going on the 2013 season. In two games he has carried the ball 64 times for 595 yards and seven touchdowns.
