In addition to Propst and Wilson, the Red Dragons return junior Breanna Propst - Kaitlynn's younger sister - as well as junior Lexie Cooper, sophomore Cameron Davis and sophomore Katelyn Fields. Breanna Propst had 11 points and 13 rebounds in the loss to Logan, Cooper added 16 points and three assists and Fields had three steals.
St. Albans used eight players in its final game of last season and saw all but one score. This year, James said, the Red Dragons have more depth than they've had during his tenure.
The 16-player roster includes three juniors, seven sophomores and five freshmen.
"If we work together with every player back from last year and build from that, we can go far," said Kaitlynn Propst, who is beginning her third year as a starter. "The last game came down to the foul shots.
"Now that we've had that taste in the regional, we're even more hungry for it. We want more of it."
In James' first four seasons, the Red Dragons won 20 games before going 23-24 the next two. He is 84-146 at St. Albans, but 34-39 since 2010.
"Taking our history, we have to win more games than we've won this year since I've been here," James said. "But, I'd rather got .500, peak at the right time, get to the states and win a state championship.
"We lost by 11 in the regional and missed 16 free throws. We're not making excuses, but we learned from that and we'll get back after it. The girls have worked hard in the offseason and since the season started. We're anxious to get started."
