A long season got even longer for the Point Pleasant girls basketball team in a 79-2 loss at South Charleston on Thursday evening.
The Big Blacks (0-17) managed just one field goal in the contest and attempted no free throws.
South Charleston (11-2), which led 45-2 at the break, was led by Aaliyah Dunham with 13 points, followed by Taliah Cashwell and ShyAnne Dunham with 11 points apiece.
Kylie Crump scored a second quarter field goal for Point's only score.
Huntington 79, Nitro 58-- Third-ranked Huntington (16-1) pulled away in the second half on the road.
Lexi Sheffield led the Highlanders with 16 points, while Erika Budd added 15 and Jordyn Dawson 14.
For Nitro (10-3), which dropped its third straight contest, Savannah Shamblin netted 26 points, followed by Halie Miller's 14 and Tiffany Reavis with 13.
Scott 66, Tolsia 40-- Maddy Weeks scored 19 points to lead the Skyhawks (9-2) to the home win. Julie Conway added 16 points for Scott, while Landyn McKinney added 10.
For Tolsia (3-9), Jordan Presley led the way with 14 points, while Savannah Winnett added 10.
