MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- The Mountaineers are officially coming to Charleston.
West Virginia football coach Dana Holgorsen announced Friday that a spring football practice will be held in Charleston on Saturday, April 5. The Mountaineers will hold an open practice -- the general public is encouraged to attend -- at the University of Charleston's Laidley Field.
WVU is allotted 15 spring football practices, and four will be open to the public. The Mountaineers will also hold an out-of-town open practice in Wheeling on March 22, plus open Saturday practices in Morgantown on March 29 and April 12, the latter of which is the spring game that culminates spring football practice.
"All four of those practices will be open," Holgorsen said. "Open it up to the public. I want all of Mountaineer Nation to be able to come and see what we're putting out there, see what the product is. I think everyone is going to be pleasantly surprised what the product is."
