Herbert Hoover (2-7) at Nitro (1-8) - The teams meet at Underwood Field for the first time since the series went on hiatus in 2004. Hoover leads the all-time series 17-15, and is led by junior running back Shaun Dotson's 1,201 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. Wildcat sophomore Brayden Underwood returned to the lineup last week after missing two games, and leads Nitro with 678 rushing yards.
St. Albans (1-8) at Lincoln County (0-9) - Neither team is playing for anything but pride, but the storyline here is Panthers Coach Derek Christian taking on his alma mater and former program.
Huntington (9-0) at Winfield (4-5) - Winfield has been eliminated from the playoff hunt but can still finish at .500 for the first time since 2007. The Generals have their work cut out for them, as No. 1 Huntington brings with it the top-ranked defense in Class AAA.
Poca (1-8) at Tolsia (4-5) - The Rebels are in playoff contention during the last week of the season for the first time since their last postseason appearance in 2007. Brandon Ward leads Tolsia with 778 rushing yards, while Poca quarterback Justin Stewart leads the Dots with 686 rushing yards and 470 yards passing.
Wahama (8-1) at Buffalo (0-9) - The defending Class A state champs come to Buffalo tonight led by senior running back Kane Roush, who has 1,181 rushing yards and 29 total touchdowns. Bison junior Jordan Tucker is Class A's third-leading rusher, with 1,394 yards and 17 scores.
Other games include Ravenswood (5-4) at Ripley (2-7), Brooke (3-6) at Cabell Midland (7-2), Scott (3-6) at Logan (6-3), Roane County (7-2) at Williamstown (7-2), Van (3-6) at Man (8-1), Gilmer County (5-4) at Valley (9-0), Tug Valley (3-6) at Clay County (3-6).
South Charleston (7-3) is idle and awaiting an as-yet undetermined first-round playoff opponent next week. Riverside (1-9) and Sherman (2-8) have completed their seasons.
