Herbert Hoover (1-2) at Tolsia (0-3) - The Huskies have played tough in back-to-back losses and missed leading rusher Shaun Dotson last week. His absence because of a thigh bruise helped Lewis County hold serve at home in a 21-0 win.
Tolsia looked like it was improving over recent years in the opening two weeks of the season but then was whitewashed 56-0 at Sissonville last week.
Chapmanville (2-1) at Poca (1-2) - The Tigers have rebounded well after a Week 1 home loss to Sissonville, beating Herbert Hoover and Westside in succession. Poca got its first win of the season last week at Class A rival Buffalo.
Greenbrier West (3-0) at Buffalo (0-3) - The Bison might have found an offensive star to replace the injured Laythen Good last week at Poca, when junior Jordan Tucker lit up the Dots defense for 313 rushing yards and four touchdowns in a 32-28 loss. The problem this week will be the strength of the Greenbrier West defense, which has allowed seven points in the first three weeks. The Cavaliers enter the game ranked No. 1 in the SSAC Class A playoff ratings.
Other games include Princeton (2-1) at Hurricane (2-1) (See story, page 1B) and Nitro (1-1) at South Charleston (2-1) (See story, this page) as well as Cabell Midland (3-0) at Huntington (3-0), Spring Valley (1-2) at Ripley (0-3), South Point, Ohio at Lincoln County (0-3), Clay County (1-2) at Valley (2-0), Hannan (1-2) at Sherman (1-2), Point Pleasant (3-0) at Logan (3-0), Webster County (0-3) at Roane County (1-2) and Ravenswood (2-0) at Wayne (2-0).
Winfield (2-1), St. Albans (0-3) and Van (1-2) are idle this week.
