Grossi, Concord handle Southern Virginia
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Concord scored its most points since 1966 in a 72-21 victory against Southern Virginia.
Zack Grossi completed 17-of-24 passes for 299 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Mountain Lions.
Fullback Gary Roach had a pair of touchdown receptions and also scored on a one-yard run. Keith Huff had two touchdown receptions. All-American wide receiver Thomas Mayo recorded a team-high 94 yards on three receptions, including a 63-yard touchdown.
Brian Kennedy led the Mountain Lions with 111 yards on 12 carries. Tae Gilbert chipped in 83 yards on seven rushes.
Concord rolled up 786 yards of total offense with 416 on the ground.
