Jan. 24--MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Sophomore forward Dan Jennings literally left West Virginia's basketball team Sunday.
Jennings was with the Mountaineers before Sunday's 56-46 victory against South Florida and then, according to his teammates, got up and left the bench without telling anyone anything.
That would include Bob Huggins, who said he didn't know where Jennings was and had not spoken to him.
Huggins called the absence "unexcused. Inexcusable." He then said Jennings was, "never to be seen again, I guess."
Jennings, a 6-foot-8, 260-pound native of Staten Island, N.Y., averaged 2.1 points and 2.5 rebounds in 8.6 minutes per game. He started four times in 14 games and peaked in the third game of the season with eight points and 10 rebounds against Davidson.
His career-high totals were nine points and 12 rebounds last season against Loyola.
