Power drops sixth straight in loss at Greenville
GREENVILLE, N.C. — The West Virginia Power couldn’t keep a sixth-inning lead, and the Greenville Drive scored four in that inning to send the Power to a 9-6 loss Sunday, its sixth straight.
Trailing 4-3 in the sixth, the Power (11-25) brought two home on a Harold Ramirez single that scored Erich Weiss and Wyatt Mathisen. The Drive (19-14) responded in the bottom of the sixth with a two-run double from Forrestt Allday, an RBI single by Jantzen Witte and a fielder’s choice RBI from Wendell Rijo in consecutive at-bats. The Drive tacked on a run in the seventh on a Jimmy Rider RBI single.
JaCoby Jones hit his fifth home run of the season for the Power, which plays Greenville on Monday at 7:05 p.m.
