ELK GARDEN, W.Va. (AP) - It's a sure sign of spring: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is opening the boat launch at Jennings Randolph Lake.
Corps officials say boaters can use the ramp starting at 8 a.m. Saturday. The launch is just off West Virginia State Route 46, three miles north of Elk Garden.
The corps charges $3 per boat, but an annual pass is on sale at the park office for $30.
The launch on the Maryland shore of the lake will open the same day.
That launch is on Mount Zion Road off Maryland State Route 135 on Backbone Mountain.
Maryland's State Forest and Park Service All Season Pass is available to residents for $75 and to visitors for $100.Both states' passes are good at both launch sites.
