The Salvation Army of Charleston is accepting applications for the Angel Tree program.
The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program ensures that as many children as possible receive gifts on Christmas. A large tree, which has been at the Charleston Town Center mall, has hundreds of angels hanging from it. Each represents a child in need.
Today is the last day for Kanawha County residents to sign up. The hours to sign up at at the Salvation Army, 301 Tennessee Ave. are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Putnam County residents can sign up Oct. 15 to 19 at the Teays Valley Church of the Nazarene, 3937 Teays Valley Road in Teays.
Applicants need to bring a personal photo ID, proof of all dependents, birth certificate or medical card for all family members, and current Food Stamp Approval Letter or proof of income and expenses. Applicants also should bring three toy choices for each child, with a $25 limit.
