The Alzheimer's Association, West Virginia Chapter will host a new monthly support group at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the association's headquarters at 1601 2nd Avenue, Charleston.
This group is for individuals who have a loved one with Alzheimer's disease or dementia and caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's disease or dementia. The group began meeting in September, and will continue to meet at the same time and location every second Tuesday of the month.
The Alzheimer's Association's support groups are designed to provide emotional, educational and social support for caregivers through regularly scheduled meetings. Support Groups help participants develop methods and skills to solve problems faced when caring for someone with Alzheimer's disease. Groups encourage caregivers to maintain their own personal, physical and emotional health, as well as optimally care for the person with dementia.
