The West Virginia Humanities Council invites the public to its 2012 Holiday Open House at the historic MacFarland-Hubbard House.
Built in 1836, the house serves as the Humanities Council headquarters. The open house takes place from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday.
Decorators have been at work in the house's historic downstairs rooms creating an early 19th-century theme. Open house guests are invited to enjoy a traditional evergreen and poinsettia motif complemented by fruit and objects from nature. A sparkling tree is the focal point of the MacFarland-Hubbard House front parlor.
The house is at 1310 Kanawha Blvd. E. For more information, call 304-346-8500.
