The state Division of Culture and History invites West Virginia quilters to enter the annual Quilts and Wall Hangings Juried exhibition, which will open May 24 with an awards ceremony during the annual Vandalia Gathering.
Quilts will be displayed through Sept. 2.
Beverly Fine, a certified judge from the National Quilting Association, will serve as juror for the exhibit.
Awards will be presented for first, second and third place -- with cash prizes -- in categories of pieced quilts, appliquéd quilts and quilts made from mixed/other techniques.
Wall hangings also will be awarded first-, second- and third-place prizes.
Entries must be shipped no earlier than April and arrive at the Culture Center no later than May 3.
