Girl Scouts gathered at the Charleston Marriott Tuesday for a cookie taste-off. The annual event highlights the cookie season -- the scouts' biggest fundraiser. Each year, more than 1.4 million boxes of cookies are sold in West Virginia alone. Here, the Samoa is the most popular cookie, followed by Thin Mint, which is the most popular cookie nationwide.
Recipes from Tuesday's event are available on the Black Diamond Council's website, www.bdgsc.org, and the desserts will be available for a limited time on the Marriott's lunch menu. The Black Diamond Council serves 61 counties in West Virginia, Ohio, Virginia and Maryland.
