The second annual St. Patrick's Day East End Pub Crawl will take place from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday.
Charleston East End Main Street is hosting the celebration at five of the city's most popular pubs and restaurants - Bluegrass Kitchen, The Empty Glass, Little India Lounge, The Red Carpet and Tricky Fish.
FOOTMAD is partnering with the event this year to provide live music from six Celtic bands.
Mountain Thyme, Appalachian Celtic Consort, Gypsy Stars, Jenny Allinder & Jim Mullins Celtic Duo, Out in Left Field and Wandering Celtic Minstrel are set to perform during the crawl. 600 LBS of SIN! will perform at the Empty Glass directly after the crawl. A separate cover charge applies after 11 p.m.
The Shamrock Challenge encourages registered "crawlers" to use the Instagram app on their smart device (phone, tablet, etc.) to locate five strategically placed shamrocks (one at each pub location) by uploading each photo to the app using the hashtag #EEPubCrawl. Once all the shamrocks are found, attendees are registered to win an Apple iPad Mini or a Budweiser fire pit.
Each pub will offer drink specials to registered crawlers. Electric 102.7 is holding special ticket giveaways through Saturday with Coach and Maggie. C&H Taxi will provide free cab rides downtown to any crawler wearing the Pub Crawl T-shirt. The company will also run the Intoxi-Taxi service for anyone needing a ride home within 15 miles of the Pub Crawl at no charge.
Registration is $18 and includes a collectible Pub Crawl T-Shirt, access to all drink specials and live music and entry into the Shamrock Challenge. Registrations of three or fewer can be processed online. Registrations of four or more using the same credit card can be processed over the phone at 304-767-9800.
