Girl Scout Troop number 1850 of Clendenin will place American flags on every grave and niche at the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery on Sunday.
The Girl Scouts and other volunteers will meet at 10 a.m. at the Cemetery's Global War on Terrorism Monument at the end of the Memorial Walkway.
About 100 men and women have been interred at the veterans cemetery. Anyone who wishes to honor them by assisting with the flag placement is welcome to attend the event.
The cemetery is located behind the West Virginia State Police Academy at 130 Academy Drive, Dunbar.The cemetery office will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday and Monday to guide and assist anyone who wishes to participate in these activities or who is interested in obtaining other information about the veterans cemetery.
