WEBSTER SPRINGS, W.Va. -- An old train station in Webster Springs will soon get a makeover.
Mayor Don McCourt tells WBOY-TV (http://bit.ly/14tVYyT ) that local officials plan to convert the station into a visitor center.
McCourt says Webster County needs a facility that can provide information to tourists, such as where they can go trout fishing or hiking.
The station is located near Baker's Island Recreation Area.
Webster County Economic Development Authority director Geary Weir says people wanting to camp in the county are likely to stay longer if there are things for them to see and do.
McCourt and Weir hope to have the building renovated and ready for visitors at the beginning of the 2014 tourist season.
