CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A St. Albans man is facing felony charges for growing a small amount of marijuana on his back porch.
State Police made the discovery in the 100 block of Kentucky Avenue Sunday evening. They went to the scene after receiving reports of drug activity in the area.
Trooper L.W. Price saw three 10-inch marijuana plants on the back porch of a garage apartment upon arrival, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Magistrate Court.
The apartment resident was identified by his father as Jesse Delafuentes, 26. Troopers were permitted to search the garage apartment and found a small amount of marijuana and two sets of digital scales.
Delafuentes was arrested shortly after troopers arrived. He was charged with cultivation of marijuana, which is a felony.
